Checking service coverage: office address is not the whole story
Published 5 November 2026

A professional’s address, claimed coverage and ability to handle your particular assignment are different facts. Ask clear location questions and keep the answers with their source dates.
Separate three location questions
First, where is the professional’s office or official contact address? Second, which areas do they say they serve? Third, what work can they actually carry out for your assignment in the area you need? Recording all three prevents a map pin from doing more work than the evidence supports.
A professional may work beyond the location of an office, but that should be confirmed directly. Conversely, an office in a familiar area does not establish that every service is offered there. Directory coverage fields should describe the stated service area, not imply property inventory or a guarantee of local expertise.

Use consistent place names
Write down the area name as supplied and clarify ambiguous descriptions. A broad region and a particular neighbourhood may be used differently in conversation. Aruba’s official tourism resources provide regional orientation; they do not define an individual provider’s service territory.
Ask the professional to describe the coverage in ordinary language and identify any practical limits. If a claim is only about introductions, do not record it as full transaction support. If the work would be remote, say so. Keep areas served separate from an exact business address or any future property address.
Ask task-specific coverage questions
Explain the activity you need: an introductory meeting, a viewing arrangement, document coordination or ongoing communication. Ask who would handle it, whether travel or another provider is involved and whether the proposed scope changes by area. The answer should relate to your task rather than only an island-wide slogan.
If timing matters, discuss appointment arrangements and how changes are handled. Do not turn an estimated response time into an advertised guarantee. Ask what information the professional needs before confirming that they can help and keep unresolved conditions visible in your notes.
Record the source and recheck changes
Keep the source URL or contact method, the name of the person who answered and the date. Distinguish a published service statement from a reply about your specific enquiry. If the two do not match, ask for clarification rather than choosing the more attractive version.
Coverage can change with staffing, affiliations and the scope of an assignment. Review it when you resume an old enquiry or when the professional changes agency. A dated service-area note is a practical reference, not a certification. Use it alongside the identity and proposal checks before deciding which discussion to continue.
Use this guide with the directory
Browse the agency and professional directory, then use our representation checklist to compare the service offered. This site lists professionals, not properties. Directory inclusion is not a promise of credentials, transaction results or suitability.
